Art Lesson w/ Ms. Jennifer: Joan Miro
Let’s express ourselves by drawing or painting in the dreamlike style of Joan Miro.
About the Artist
Joan Miro was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1893. He went to art school at the age of 14. He was a painter, sculptor, and ceramicist. His art is often described as being child-like, dream-like, and playful. His style was known for his use of simple shapes, and bright colors.
Materials:
Watercolor paper
Crayons
Watercolor paints
Brush, water, and rags

Instructions:
Begin by drawing various circles, shapes, and lines with black crayon, sharpie, or oil pastel.
Connect the shapes, and color them in with crayons.
Now paint the background with your watercolors. Miro often used blue backgrounds in his art.
